Plus I have a major soft-spot for the Hive honestly. The score is great, the practical effects are good and even the CGI isn't god-awful. I mean sure the mutating Licker is kinda dumb but having watched the behind-the-scenes a lot of care went into the movie.

As a self-contained movie I'd go so far as to say it does /well/.
